21-Day Gratitude Challenge to Build a Habit of Thankfulness and Mindfulness

It’s often said that it takes 21 days to create a new habit.  So, as the year draws to a close, there’s no better way to prepare for the new year than by cultivating two transformative practices: gratitude and mindfulness. While this challenge focuses on building a habit of gratitude, we are excited to introduce our 30-Day Mindfulness Journal, perfect for those who want to take their reflective practice even further.

Starting on December 10th, this 21-day gratitude challenge will guide you through daily reflections, helping you recognize life’s blessings. And if you’re ready to extend your journey into the new year, our mindfulness journal is the ideal next step!

Week 1: Building the Habit (Dec 10 – Dec 16)

  • Day 1 (Dec 10): Write three things you’re grateful for today. Big or small, what brought you joy?
  • Day 2 (Dec 11): Reflect on a person you appreciate and write about why they mean so much to you.
  • Day 3 (Dec 12): Think of a recent challenge. What is one positive lesson or outcome from it?
  • Day 4 (Dec 13): Savor your favorite meal or drink and note why it brings you comfort or happiness.
  • Day 5 (Dec 14): Identify one thing about your health or body that you’re grateful for.
  • Day 6 (Dec 15): Recall a happy memory and describe how it makes you feel.
  • Day 7 (Dec 16): Write about a place that brings you peace or comfort and why it’s special to you.

Week 2: Deepening Your Gratitude Practice (Dec 17 – Dec 23)

  • Day 8 (Dec 17): List five things in nature that bring you joy (e.g., fresh air, trees, or sunshine).
  • Day 9 (Dec 18): Think of someone who made you smile recently and write them a quick thank-you message (even if you don’t send it).
  • Day 10 (Dec 19): Reflect on something you often take for granted and why it’s special.
  • Day 11 (Dec 20): Express gratitude for something you’ve learned recently. What did it teach you, and how has it enriched your life?
  • Day 12 (Dec 21): Identify a simple item you use daily that improves your life. Write about why you’re thankful for it.
  • Day 13 (Dec 22): Reflect on an act of kindness you’ve given or received recently. How did it make you feel?
  • Day 14 (Dec 23): Think about a time when you felt truly at peace. Write about that moment and what made it special.

Week 3: Ending the Year with Gratitude (Dec 24 – Dec 31)

  • Day 15 (Dec 24): Write about a family tradition or memory that brings you joy during the holidays.
  • Day 16 (Dec 25): What is one gift (material or non-material) you’ve received this year that you’re deeply grateful for?
  • Day 17 (Dec 26): Reflect on a skill, talent, or strength you have. How has it helped you or others this year?
  • Day 18 (Dec 27): Think of a friend or loved one who has supported you this year. Write about what their support has meant to you.
  • Day 19 (Dec 28): Write about a moment this year that made you laugh or brought you pure joy.
  • Day 20 (Dec 29): What is one goal or accomplishment from this year that you’re proud of?
  • Day 21 (Dec 30): Reflect on the past 21 days. How has focusing on gratitude impacted your mindset and outlook?
